Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is seeking a Confidential Assistant to the Office of the Vice Provost, Students.  This full-time  regular position is located on our Surrey campus. 

As a member of the leadership team in the Office of the Vice Provost, Students, the Confidential Assistant is responsible for a variety of functions in support of the effective and efficient administrative operations of the Office, and the direct support the Office of the Vice Provost, Students.

The Confidential Assistant has responsibility for ensuring the Vice Provost, Students is accessible and well supported, that resources are utilized appropriately, applicable policies and procedures are up-to-date and adhered to, and that exemplary levels of customer service are provided to students, senior leadership, the KSA, and other stakeholders, in accordance with the goals of both the Office and the Vice Provost, Students.

The Confidential Assistant supports multiple committees, processes and events requiring an understanding of governance and protocol.  Using a genuine appreciation for discretion, confidentiality, diplomacy and professionalism, the successful candidate will operate in accordance with and provide interpretation of prescribed policies, procedures and practices of the University. This position will interact with students, senior administrators, staff, faculty, the KSA and other members of the KPU community, Ministries, and other post-secondary institutions.

Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-5 years’ related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the BC post-secondary system. The successful candidate will demonstrate strength in written and oral communications, effective problem solving, rationalizing, time management, objective thinking, team work, independent work, critical thinking and analysis.  Proficiency in MS Office applications and calendar functions is required. Experience with Banner is an asset.
