Assistant Professor - Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Trent University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (current annual salary range $84,870 - $90,322). We will accept applications from qualified personnel with a sociopsychological determinants of health perspective and a focus in aging and development/gerontology. The position is subject to budgetary approval and will commence July 1, 2016. 

Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Psychology (or related discipline), a strong active research program with evidence of research excellence and a strong potential to attract external funding, and a commitment to mentorship and excellence in teaching. Applications are welcome from candidates with research interests in aging and/or gerontology from a socio-psychological determinants of health perspective, but preference will be given to candidates who can augment current research interests in the department. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in the Trent Centre for Aging and Society, and to supervise students in the department’s MA/MSc program in Psychology as well as Trent’s interdisciplinary MA/MSc program in Applied Modelling and Quantitative Methods. 

Candidates must have completed the PhD by the start of the appointment.
