The School of Physical Therapy, College of Medicine, at the University of Saskatchewan invites applicants for this faculty position in Neurosciences or Neurorehabilitation.

The School of Physical Therapy has 10 academic faculty, 3 clinical education coordinators, 1 clinical specialist and 4 administrative staff.  Faculty are strongly collegial and collaborative, committed to best practice teaching, clinical competence, and advancing knowledge. The School provides an entry-level Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and contributes to thesis-based MSc and PhD programs within the Health Sciences.  There are excellent opportunities for collaborative research across a wide spectrum of specialties within the University and clinical communities. A College of Medicine strategic focus on neuroscience research and a children’s hospital under construction promise exciting potential for interprofessional research. In addition, the School has close relationships with rehabilitation practitioners in the community who support teaching and research endeavors.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a professional degree in Physical Therapy and have at least two years of clinical experience in physical therapy
  • Will have met the requirements of PhD level qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Be eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists.
  • Will have clinical teaching and/or research expertise in neuroscience or neurorehabilitation.

Responsibilities of this position will include teaching, research, and service. The teaching responsibilities include classroom and lab instruction and assessment and project advising. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an externally funded research program and contribute to mentoring and training of graduate students within the MPT, MSc, and PhD programs. Administrative responsibilities include course coordination, committee participation, student program advising, and other related activities. The appointee will join faculty committed to the School’s strategic goals and ongoing development of the MPT curriculum. Salary bands for this post are as follows: Assistant Professor $86,844 - $104,357; Associate Professor $104,357 – $121,871; Professor $121,871 – $142,303.
